Music and the Legitimacy of Nomadism in Mongolia
As a part of our ongoing effort to promote the many important projects of New Orleans’ artists and advocates, we would like to take a moment to point out a very exciting endeavor that is currently being undertaken by a student at Loyola University. Dimitri Staszewski, a junior in the Music Industry Studies program, is in the process of acquiring funds for a trip to Mongolia in which he will shoot a documentary profiling the state of the region’s nomadic traditions through the lens of music. The project, which is raising money through a Kickstarter campaign, has already received a great deal of support and attention, including a spot on Pitchfork’s curated projects page. The campaign has 19 days left to raise a desired goal of $6,000. So, if you want to support the cause, consider checking out the project on Kickstarter.com and pledging a donation to help this local aspiring filmmaker achieve his goal!
